The Future is Local - Connect
We are a small group of plastic free enthusiasts working to free Thames of plastic bags, and reduce plastic use in general.
A world free of single-use plastic bags is an idea whose time has come – and in Thames it comes in July!
Saturday, July 1 – The Big GBD Sew-Up - In preparation for International Plastic Bag Free Day we will be holding a sewing bee in the Grahamstown Bar & Diner. Come along and sew up some cloth bags that will be freely available at participating shops on Plastic-Bag Free Day. We will also run a market stall on this day to promote the plastic bag free idea and showcase alternatives – including these reusable cloth bags.
July 3rd - International Plastic Bag Free Day - will feature events in Thames and other locations around NZ as well as the rest of the world.
